Workouts: How to Begin
at home?

“The expert in anything was once a beginner.”

As a student myself I know how hard it can be to start with workouts and fitness. You say that you don’t have the time this week or that there is no fitness buddy. But in the end we all know that these are just excuses and that there is always some spare time (even tough it’s just a few minutes) to exercise.

How To Start With Workouts
At Home?

Finding time to fitness is never easy, but home training could provide the answer. From assembling a few pieces of basic training equipment to setting up a gym in a room at your house, at-home workouts could be the key to your fitness. If you’re going to be training at home, can you get the same level of quality in terms of equipment and benefits from your training as you get from a gym? The answer is yes.

Almost everyone knows exercise improves your health. However, a lot of people aren’t aware of all the benefits that workouts and working out in general offer. Top benefits you can look forward to when you start with workouts are:

Regular physical activity can help with reducing your risk of chronic conditions like type 2 diabetes, heart disease, many types of cancer, depression and anxiety, and dementia.

Exercise improves mental health by reducing anxiety, depression, and negative mood and by improving self-esteem and cognitive function.

When you work out, you consume more energy. This naturally requires more sleep to feel reinvigorated. After practicing average physical activity for 16 weeks, evidence shows that sleep duration can increase by up to 2 hours.

The University of Birmingham has examined a group of older people who have exercised their entire life and compared them to a group of similarly aged adults and younger adults who did not exercise regularly. The results showed that those who have exercised regularly have defied the aging process, having the immunity, muscle mass, and cholesterol levels of a young person.

Physical activity can immediately boost the brain’s dopamine, norepinephrine, and serotonin levels. All of these affect focus and attention. Aerobic exercise is great for both body and brain as it not only improves brain function, but also acts as a “first aid kit” on damaged brain cells.

The short answer is yes. Keeping in mind that you are prepared to put a little time and effort into your workouts at home, it can be just as effective as a working out in the gym. It all depends on the individual, some people prefer to see others working out to find motivation and know that if they didn’t make the effort to go to the gym, then they would not bother carrying out any fitness exercise at home. However for others, the prospect of going into a gym is daunting and therefore exercising in the comfort of their own home is much more appealing. The real battle is in your head, and it’s about getting through the first months. Once you make it a habit and learn how to perform all the exercises, it’s time to push yourself even harder in your workouts.
