What is a pre-workout meal

A pre-workout meal, you might know this term, or you might now. A pre-workout meal is a meal that you consume before your workout. The meal should contain a lot of carbohydrates. The micronutrient that gives you energy and makes you feel energized. In this blogs I will discuss a few pre-workout meals incl. a recipe.

Whole grain bread

Whole grain bread gives you a lot of energy and can be used for almost any recipes. Bread is used in a lot of marketing campaigns. I can imagine quite a few of you who think that bread makes you fat. While in fact over-consuming makes you fat, not bread in particular.


Fruits are also full of fibers and give you a lot of energy. Try combining those with things like peanut butter. A snack you could try is combining apple or banana with peanut butter.

Protein pancakes

Trying to reach your protein goal while also eating a good pre-workout meal? Try eating high protein pancakes like the ones below or ones like these. Super easy & healthy.


Healthy Protein Pancakes

Easy and really delicious protein pancakes.
Prep Time 10 mins
Course Breakfast, lunch
Servings 4 mini pancakes


  • Pan


  • 1/2 mashed banana
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 scoop protein powder


  • Mix everything together until it is smooth
  • Warm up a pan and add some olive oil
  • Bake until golden on both sides
